( deerington ) IC journal

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Ford currently has one journal bound in dark brown deerskin leather and emblazoned with a pair of silver, six-pronged antlers on the front. The journal is filled with notes on the various people, places, events, and creatures within Deerington, accompanied by detailed and realistic illustrations. Many pages have addition encoded notes on them. Ford writes most of his notes in neat cursive with occasional block capital letters. Sample.

The journal entries generally fall within one of four categories.

Dated Entries: General summaries of Ford's current events, ideas he's gotten, suspicions he has, and so on. These entries are a little more personal than most of his journal, and more likely to contain his personal thoughts and feelings.

Sleepers and Creatures: Notes on other Sleepers, NPCs, and the various monsters found in Deerington. Most of these entries are illustrated. (Note: Ford has an entry for nearly everyone he's interacted with more than twice, but for my own sake I'll only be including detailed notes on the ones that he knows are some sort of supernatural something.)

Places and Events: Notes on the various locations throughout Deerington, monthly events and preludes, and any permanent oddities in town.

Theories: Thoughts and ideas on the exact nature of Deerington, its composition, and ways to change, influence, and escape it.

Codes: Encoded messages will always use the Caesar, Atbash, A1Z26, or Vigenère cihpers, though some may be encoded with multiple methods. The key for any Vigenère codes will be an important keyword from the same entry. (I can also just give you the keys if you really don't want to play around with decoding them.)

Dated Entries
August 31st
A week ago I turned control of the Stan O' War II over to Stanley and went to bed. When I awoke, I found myself in a strange town called Deerington.

Immediately, I discovered that I never truly 'woke up'. Deerington is located with the Dreamscape, which exists solely within the mind of a girl named Sodder. Allegedly we, too, are purely fictional entities that exist only within Sodder's mind - a claim I find dubious at best. Though further investigation is required I suspect that explanation is drastically over simplified, if not outright false.

In the meantime, I've begun to keep another journal. Much like my initial arrival in Gravity Falls I find myself barely able to keep up with the depth and breadth of anomalous phenomena in this town. Already I've encountered numerous strange incidents within the Deerington's boundaries, not the least of which are the other foreign visitors like myself: the Sleepers.
