Oh boy, what does this mean? He's learned that Ruby's vocabulary choices can be odd, to say the very least, but even with that in mind he can't think of any meanings that aren't extremely euphemistic (which he finds unlikely) or extremely literal (which might be more likely, but he has no idea how that would work) and after a long moment of debating he has to admit that trying to figure it out is a fool's errand and he needs to admit defeat. ]
Dude, we have baseball bat rocket launchers, Trumpets and fishing rods for weapons. I don't think it's that far fetched. It could be part of his landing strategy.
[Okay. Now they're getting onto the important facts.]
I know, right? It caught me by surprise too. We have to get our hands on it before he wrecks it for everyone!
Yes, but transforming from a cane to a pogo stick isn't as dramatic as switching from a scythe to rifle.
[ He means dramatic in a sense of scale, but it really applies to having a flair for drama as well. ]
I don't think James is likely to break it in any case. Ozpin uses it as a weapon, and he seems too careful with it to risk damaging it outside of combat.
I agree completely. But there's a logical explanation for that.
He's old so you can't expect him to have the coolest, freshest weapon around like my Crescent Rose. That's just not how it works. That's why I have a sniper rifle scythe and he has a pogo stick cane.
[Ruby's logic here is pretty darn sound.] </small.
That makes sense, but like, Ironwood's metal body is like super heavy and while Oz is careful, the general isn't really known for that.
So like-I just hope Oz is smarter than to let him touch it.

Ruby, I have no idea what this means.
Also, you've sent this to the wrong person.

This might not be the most awkward thing that has happened to her in Deerington. But it at least had be in the top ten.
She can't believe she just sent a message to Ozpin's boyfriend when she was trying to get a hold of him.
That's just really REALLY awkward.]
Oh.

So she's just going to tell the truth and improvise.]
Ozpin's cane is secretly a pogo stick and he's been hiding it from everyone in Remnant!
It sounds really fun and I just want to give it a try!
Is that so wrong!?
Don't judge me!

.........
No, not even Ford can pretend that doesn't raise more questions than it answers. ]
It's a pogo stick? I didn't think that would be the sort of dual-function built into a Remnant weapon.
[ He's actually not sure he totally buys that but maybe-- ]

Hold on, James likes pogo sticks?
[ He seemed so serious, though! Did Ford totally misread him? ]
