Hello. I know you don't know me but a man named Xerxes Break told me you might be able to help.
He said that you do a lot of research into magic and related areas, and I'm wondering if you've ever heard of a device call an aetherometer? I'm looking for one to use in my research.

He's pretty pleased to hear that, actually. ]
That's correct.
I can't say I've heard of an aetherometer, but can you explain what it does?
[ Measures aether, presumably. ]
If I know what it's designed to detect, I may be able to replicate it.

I can draw you a picture, one moment.
[It actually takes a few minutes, but he sends a (somewhat crooked) picture of a strange device.]
The top part flips down when it's not in use.

Still, it gives him a place to start. ]
Without knowing how exactly it works it'll be hard to replicate exactly.
But there may be a way around that. Do you have a sample of aether I could examine? Or a way to generate it?

I'm not sure how capturable they are, but I can at least show you.
